En las pasados días se han realizado hermosos eventos para recordar al maestro músico Jorge Peña Hen, al cumplirse próximamente 50 años de su asesinato en el año 1973, en manos de la llamada caravana de la muerte.
Pero lo más hermoso quizás de estos recordatorios es que han estado llenos de música y talento infantil, que fue la principal preocupación de Jorge Peña, de manera constante y rigurosa durante toda su vida. Su sueño de utilizar la música como herramienta de cohesión social y desarrollo humano que lo llevó a crear la primera orquesta sinfónica infantil de Latinoamérica.
Y es que su vida fue realmente un ejemplo de auténtico liderazgo social, ya que a través de la Sociedad Bach y de la Escuela de Música pudo transformar la vida de cientos de personas y de cientos de familias que pudieron acceder a la cultura musical, al desarrollo de la disciplina musical desde temprana edad y también el goce de la música de manera generosa y comunitaria a través de conciertos de coro y orquesta, representaciones teatrales y diferentes eventos culturales.
Jorge Peña fue sin lugar a dudas un líder que pudo movilizar voluntades, gestionar recursos, sobrepasar las vallas económicas , burocráticas y llegar a consolidar un sueño, un objetivo que siempre tuvo claro, como era el de transformar la sociedad a través de la música.
Y es que él veía con claridad cómo en la música se desarrollan valores, hábitos y capacidades de una manera inigualable. El trabajo en equipo, el método y disciplina, vencer el pánico escénico y desarrollar la personalidad, el mérito por el talento y el trabajo constante, el respeto, la tolerancia a la frustración, el desarrollo de la sensibilidad y la expresión de sentimientos. En fin, un sinnúmero de habilidades blandas adicionales a la hermosa tarea de educar integralmente a través de la música.
Hoy son decenas las generaciones de músicos que lideran orquestas en todo Chile y centenares de orquestas en toda Latinoamérica que se desarrollaron gracias a la visión de Jorge Peña Hen.
Sin duda todavía cuesta dimensionar el verdadero impacto del trabajo de este hombre que falleció apenas con 45 años de edad. Su vida bien merece una película, porque fue un líder de verdad.
